Apprentice Jockeys’ School 50th Anniversary Cup

Date: 5 June, 2022

The Hong Kong Jockey Club is staging The Apprentice Jockeys’ School 50th Anniversary Cup to mark the 50th Anniversary of the Apprentice Jockeys’ School (AJS) and to recognise its irreplaceable role in the sport of horse racing in Hong Kong. It has nurtured world-class jockeys and trainers, including Tony Cruz, Francis Lui and Vincent Ho. Apart from the feature race, all races are named after the AJS’s milestones.

Prior to the race meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony between the RTTC with three institutions will be held at the Sha Tin Clubhouse, including the Education University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Association of Sports Medicine and Sports Science and Guangdong Vocational Institute of Sport. The partnerships aim to provide home-grown jockeys with resourceful education and training opportunities.
