The Racing Development Board strives to establish a best training system that meets the diverse needs of the Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC), and to deliver training programmes to our staff that enable them to operate at a standard that exceeds accepted industry requirements.
The Racing Development Board was established in 2005 to provide racing industry personnel with formal trainings, so that they may acquire qualifications recognized worldwide. The Racing Talent Development Stable managed by the Board was opened on 14 March 2008, providing a purpose-built facility for race training and professional development. Established in 1972, the Apprentice Jockey School was the forerunner of the Racing Development Board. Lots of well-known local jockeys have received training there. Some of them even become top trainers in the industry, including Anthony Cruz, PF Yiu, KW Lui, KL Man, CS Shum, and YS Tsui.
