2022 is the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the HKSAR. Coinciding with such a celebration, “The 25th Anniversary of HKSAR - Hong Kong Collection Exhibition” brings together the collections of a group of renowned collectors, who share a sense of mission in the inheritance of Chinese arts and culture. They have been searching all over the world for many years for precious cultural artifacts lost overseas. With the return of Hong Kong, these national treasures have officially returned to the embrace of the motherland.
The part concerning Hong Kong and Macau in the “14th Five-Year Plan” passed in March last year further empowered Hong Kong to develop into a hub for arts and cultural exchanges between China and the rest of the world. On one hand, this exhibition can showcase Hong Kong as an international art trading centre; on the other hand, it can also increase the sense of belonging and recognition of the Chinese culture among the people in Hong Kong, to further promote art and cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries.
The Exhibition, taking place from 23rd September to 14th October 2022 in the Exhibition Gallery at Hong Kong Central Library, accommodates museum-grade Chinese antiques including ceramics, jades, furniture, bronzes, and etc., ranging from Tang to Qing dynasties.
