The Hong Kong Jockey Club promotes the development of arts and culture to enrich the lives of Hong Kong people. To encourage the community to enjoy active lifestyles, we are proud to support the annual Hong Kong Flower Show since 2013, which draws hundreds of thousands of visitors as well as participation from over 200 local, overseas and Mainland horticultural organisations.
Themed “Ablaze with Glory”, this year’s Show features Cosmos as its theme flower. The venue is filled with a riotously coloured display of Cosmos, offering delicate and charming flowers with veil-thin petals that flutter in light breeze, exuding a gentle and charming atmosphere.
As ever, we are supporting the educational programmes of this event, including the Jockey Club Student Drawing Competition to cultivate an appreciation for the natural environment among young people and the Jockey Club Community Green Playground, to offer opportunities to learn about nature conservation. Students can also grow their own plant seedlings and arrange to plant them in school garden plots through the Jockey Club One Person, One Flower Scheme.
In addition, the Jockey Club Mosaiculture Display features two vibrant floral horse displays created by students to celebrate the Club’s 140th anniversary. We continue to support the “Give the Flowers a New Home!” Jockey Club Flower Re-Planting Scheme, repurposing usable plants and landscape materials left over from the Flower Show.
In order to share the unique creativity and artistic style of the flower show, the “Jockey Club Hong Kong Flower Show Transport Subsidy Scheme” provides free transportation and guided tours for senior citizens, students, the underprivileged, and individuals.
We commit to building an inclusive, creative and vibrant Hong Kong, where everyone can enjoy the benefits offered by cultural experiences and an improved quality of life through arts.
