Oriental Watch 55th Anniversary Sha Tin Trophy at Sha Tin Racecourse this Sunday

The Oriental Watch 55th Anniversary Sha Tin Trophy race day, also known as the Gentlemen’s Bow-tie Day, will be held on 23 October at Sha Tin Racecourse. Racegoers are invited to attend the races in attire graced with bow-tie or bow-related elements.

Starting from this racing season, the Oriental Watch 55th Anniversary Sha Tin Trophy (Race 9) has been upgraded to international Group 2 race on turf over 1,600m. Chairman of the Oriental Watch Holdings Limited Dr Yeung Ming Biu and his wife, along with Managing Director Dennis Yeung Him Kit and his wife and Executive Director Alain Lam Hing Lun and his wife, will present souvenirs to the winning connections.  The Premier Bowl (1,200m, G2), to be run as Race 7, will be another of the day’s highlights.

A Watch and Fashion Show will be staged in the Parade Ring during Race 3, featuring celebrity models Elanne Kwong, Vincy Chan and Michelle Wai will take the lead on the runway, showing off evening dresses by renowned fashion designer Pius Cheung. After Race 5, male models will catwalk the tuxedo presented by celebrity owner Edmond So’s tuxedo shop LUXE.

Mezza One, the food plaza at Sha Tin Racecourse, will present six special dishes, with prices from HK$28 and up.

Members and guests are welcome to join the Gentleman Bow Tie Award by taking a selfie at the designated photo booth at 1/F Members’ Enclosure before 3pm and then uploading to Instagram with #OWCGentlemensBowTieRaceday and #OrientalWatchShaTinTrophy.  Participants will have the chance to win a NOMOS Glashutte Tetra Himmelblau watch worth HK$19,800.

Ten races are programmed for the day, with the first starting at 1:00 pm.  Sha Tin Racecourse will open at 11:00 am on 23 October.
