The Oriental Watch 55th Anniversary Sha Tin Trophy will be run on Sunday, October 23 at Sha Tin Racecourse. To mark this special occasion, the Club is staging “Gentlemen’s Bow Tie Raceday”. Gentlemen racegoers are cordially invited to dress up in bow ties, while ladies can accessorise their outfits with something equally stylish – and maybe bow tie-shaped!
First run in 1978 to celebrate the opening of the racecourse that bears its name, the Sha Tin Trophy has long been an early season highlight. This is the fifth time the 1600m Group 2 event has been sponsored by the Oriental Watch Company, and the possible presence of star names like Contentment and Designs On Rome looks certain to ensure the race lives up to its illustrious heritage.
The Premier Bowl is another of the day’s highlights, with top sprinters like Lucky Bubbles, Aerovelocity, Not Listenin’tome and Peniaphobia vying to capture the first 1200m G2 race of the season.
Together with the other special activities being held at Sha Tin Racecourse on 23 October, this is an occasion no serious racing fan will want to miss.
Don't miss the Watch & Fashion Show in the Parade Ring, where celebrities Elanne Kong, Vincy Chan and Michelle Wai will model the latest watch collections, as well as evening dresses by renowned fashion designer Pius Cheung. You can also enjoy a men’s fashion parade highlighting suits and bow ties from LUXE, demonstrated by male models.
Members and their guests wearing bow ties or bow tie-shaped accessories on October 23 can enter this contest to try to win the exciting top prize of a NOMOS Glashutte Tetra Himmelblau watch.
Mezza One, the food plaza at Sha Tin Racecourse, will present a tempting array of fare specially tailored for the modern gentleman, including dishes that are good for men’ health, traditional British favourites and even food in bow tie shapes!
