When Henry Leung’s wife was diagnosed with dementia, he grew concerned with his ability to care for her, given his own advanced age. The syndrome would significantly affect her mental state, leading to sudden emotional shifts and challenges with focus.
Thanks to the Jockey Club Carer Space Project — funded by the Club’s Trust — Leung found the support he needed to care for his long-time partner with greater confidence. Alongside the services offered at the carer space, Leung benefited from joining the community of fellow caregivers, where carers like him could share their experiences and offer mutual support to one another.
