Local Talents Prepare to Perform on the World Stage

HKJC Junior Riders gear up to showcase equine talent through the innovative format of the HKJC Junior Challenge and the HKJC Junior Trophy

HKJC JUNIOR CHALLENGE
SATURDAY 11 FEBRUARY 18:30

Aside from the 5*classes, for the very first time, the LONGINES Masters of Hong Kong will give young local riders a unique opportunity to showcase their own considerable talent, as selected members of The Hong Kong Jockey Club's Junior Equestrian Training Squad (JETS) take to the circuit. The HKJC Junior Challenge is a table A, not against the clock event. Penalties will be 4 points for a fence down. The unique aspect of this new class will be that Edwina Tops-Alexander, one of the best riders in the world, will comment and judge the style of these young riders – and will attribute points to determine the winner of this class.

HKJC JUNIOR TROPHY
SUNDAY 12 FEBRUARY 13:00 TWO ROUNDS

The HKJC Junior Trophy will give local fans a chance to see just how far these young riders have come, testing them under the bright lights across a specially designed course in a Grand Prix format across two rounds. Both riders count as the winner will be the rider with the fewest penalties across both first and second rounds – and the best time in the second round. These events will, of course, ensure there are Hong Kong champions to cheer during the course of the weekend's action.
